Kym Iris King has a unique combination of professional experiences in the forprofit, nonprofit, government, and academic sectors. She has worked with some of the most respected and recognized brands in the U.S. including: PBS, Post-
Newsweek, ABC/Disney, iHeart Media, Baylor College of Medicine, the Robert WoodJohnson Foundation, Walmart Foundation, Goodwill Industries, and Google.
Prior of joining American Leadership Forum Houston, Kym served as Vice President of Public Relations and Community Engagement for Goodwill Houston. She worked for Houston Mayors, Lee Brown and Bill White as executive director of the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. She served as community affairs director for KTXH-TV; directed national communications for The Independent Living Research Utilization program at TIRR Memorial Hermann, and directed communications and training programs for the Center for Research on Women with Disabilities at Baylor College of Medicine.
Kym has also produced and hosted original programming for radio and TV stations across Texas and the country. She has received numerous regional and national awards for her work and has served on governing and advisory boards for numerous nonprofit organizations in the Houston area.
Kym is an American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow.
