Authentic Leadership: Leadership in the Second Half of Life

April 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for a workshop on planning for and thinking about life after retirement.

Mel Taylor, Class 29 and long time ALF facilitator is embarking on his own “second half of Life” journey since retiring as CEO of the Council on Recovery 2.5 years ago. For the past five years in preparation for this new phase of life, his research and experiential seekings have created new insights, new opportunities and posed new questions about how best to live fully-especially in a culture that does not do a good job of supporting elders. Join Mel in a two hour workshop as we dialogue and begin to answer questions like“Who am I without initials or job title? How do I go about discovering new opportunites for learning and connection? What matters now?”

Mel is a social worker and long time CEO who has taught Leadership at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. Most recently he has become involved with “Sage-ing International” in training to become an elder Sage-ing Leader. Currently he is an Executive coach and organizational consultant and is helping others begin the journey into fulling elderhood.
