BRIDGE HOUSTON Starting Where We Want to Go: Investing in Student Potential

October 16 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Explore evidence-based strategies and community-driven practices that support student success across Houston’s diverse learning environments

Our expectations shape our systems. This session invites leaders to begin with a bold premise: every student has the potential to thrive. Drawing on local and national research, we’ll explore strategies that have moved the needle on student success—especially for those historically marginalized. The conversation will center not just on interventions, but on the values and beliefs that drive them. Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to design learning environments rooted in possibility, care, and community connection.

There’s no shortage of opinions about education—but what does the research actually say?

Dr. Ruth N. López Turley from Rice University’s Kinder Institute will help us cut through the noise and focus on what the data shows really works to support student success. We may not have all the answers, but this is a place to start with what we do know—and to build from there, together.

Whether you’re a parent, educator, nonprofit leader, local business, or community member—your voice matters. Join us and bring your insight to the conversation.
