Vision Houston: A Dialogue with Mayor John Whitmire

As part of the OneCommunity Strategic Plan, the American Leadership Forum Houston / Gulf Coast Chapter is positioning its network of Senior Fellows as Houston’s “braintrust” of leaders seeking to activate the collective relational and intellectual power they represent for Houston. This inaugural Vision Houston breakfast, featuring an intimate chat with City of Houston Mayor John Whitmire, will enable our network of Senior Fellows to gain clarity on where our individual and collective leadership is needed most to benefit the common good of Greater Houston.
City of Houston Mayor John Whitmire was elected as Houston’s 63rd mayor in December 2023. Whitmire took over City Hall in January 2024 after serving for more than 50 years in the Legislature, representing Houston in the Texas House and then the Texas Senate. During this Vision Houston dialogue we will learn the mayor’s vision for public safety, city services, fiscal management and other important themes.
This intimate chat will be facilitated by Mustafa Tameez, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Outreach Strategists. With nearly 30 years of experience, Mustafa is a digital marketing expert, strategic consultant in communications and public affairs, and an authority in multicultural markets. In addition to his work with Outreach Strategists, Mustafa is actively involved in various community organizations. He is the Chairman of the Board for the Transportation Advocacy Group-Houston, a board member of the Asia Society of Texas, an alumnus of the Texas Lyceum, and a board member and Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum.
