SUMMARY:The Water We Count On: Securing Houston's Future
DESCRIPTION:Every tap in Houston depends on decisions we make today. Learn what our water system needs and how you can help build its future.\n\n\nHouston’s Water: Thinking Beyond the Next Election \nElection cycles encourage short-term thinking\, but some things require us to think long term. Houston’s water infrastructure is one of them. We think about water during hurricane season\, less so about the everyday water that keeps our lives going: in our homes\, at the Texas Medical Center\, and across the 274 industry and utility connections that depend on the City of Houston’s supply. \nOur water system faces two challenges at once. Our aging systems are in need of repair and our growing region needs new capacity to serve new homes and businesses. Both require sustained investment\, and both are solvable. \nOur panelists\, with Moderation by Alia Vinson (Senior Fellow Class 61 and Partner at Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP) will walk through how our water system works\, what’s at stake for our region\, and where leaders and residents like you can make a real difference. You’ll leave with a clearer picture of the issue and concrete ways to help move Houston forward. \nPanelists: \n\nMichael Turco: General Manager\, Harris-Galveston Subsidence District\nDrew Molly\, PE: Chief Water Officer\, Houston Public Works\nMark Evans: Chair\, Region H Water Planning Group\n\n \nSpecial Thanks to our Sponsor: Greg Olinger and Coastal Water Authority

SUMMARY:Bridge Houston Adaptive Leadership Training
DESCRIPTION:A one day training on the Adaptive Leadership Framework developed at Harvard Kennedy School led by ALF Lead Facilitators.\n\n\nGrounded in the adaptive leadership framework developed at the Harvard Kennedy School and shaped by decades of ALF practice\, this 1-day workshop is designed for leaders ready to examine their own assumptions\, sit with discomfort\, and return to their work with sharper awareness and greater adaptability. Our approach holds that leadership is fundamentally relational and an activity\, not a role.
